Final Exam
Welcome!
A few things before you get started:
-
No notes, books, slides, electronic devices other than calculators, crib sheets, or other aids are allowed.
-
Read every problem carefully.
-
Multiple-choice, choice and short-answer problems are worth 1 point each.
-
The exam is 3 hours long.
-
Make sure to put in an answer on all problems, even if you are guessing some of them. We won't deduct points for wrong answers, so guessing can only work in your favor!
-
RELATE allows math operations in responses to short-answer questions (e.g. 17/3 or sqrt(2)).
-
For each question, provide the best and most precise answer.
In some cases, multiple answers may be equally correct. In that case, each such answer will result in full credit. In other cases, some correct answers may be more precise than others. In that case, only the most precise answer will result in full credit.
For example, if in a multiple choice question, option (A) implies option (B), and the stronger option (A) is true, you must choose (A).
For example, if you are asked to provide an upper bound of something, provide the smallest valid upper bound.
-
If you encounter a technical issue during the exam, please make sure that the proctor at the facility is aware and can confirm your claims, ideally in writing.
-
If you encounter an issue with one of the questions, answer according to your best guess and leave a comment in the "Evidence" box on the last page of the exam with your concern. Make sure to explain the reasoning behind the answer you give. The purpose of this is for you to document that you knew the material, and consequently to make it easier for us to accommodate you if there turns out to be an issue.
Beyond that, just keep working, and we will sort out any issues later.
Good luck!
